My photographic work is deeply committed to a sense of nostalgia. Even if a photo is recent, there is a temporal curiosity that can emerge through its viewing. Photos can produce affect—sometimes they pull us. Other times, we choose to look back, to old work, through catalogues, archives, collections. Photos are curious objects that do things to us.
I’m becoming less precious about dust, scratches, and light—allowing my 35mm scans to show signs of the physical objects they are.
Within my practice, I try to elicit reflections on relationality, both between people and across lines of filiation with our built and natural environments.
